On a very cold Winters day in July, we popped into The Pot Food & Wine on King William Road, in need of a nice glass of red!
It’s been a while since I’ve been to the Hyde Park eatery and once there I promised to make sure it’s not as long between visits. We spent the afternoon in a warm and intimate interior paired with some phenomenal food. Glenn and the rest of the staff really looked after us and once the food started, the cold weather was quickly forgotten.
We tasted many dishes from their new menu, and loved every one. Straight up we had the Mount Cook King Salmon Sashimi, quickly followed up by the Sticky Beef Dumplings.
All Four of the Pot Buns came out next (Truffled Mushrooms, Soft-Shell Crab, Char-Siu Pork and Prawn with Kewpie and Kimchi). On the side of the buns we had a deconstructed caesar salad, a really fresh and modern take on an often heavy side. I mean let’s be honest, how many average caesar salads have you had in your life? But not this, it was a perfect side to share.
At this stage it was hard not to be full but a strong finish was just around the corner with Slow Cooked Octopus and Caramelised Pork Belly with a Carrot Puree.
Very much looking forward the next visit!
P.S. The Spanish Cuca Anchovy soldiers are a must try! Even if you don’t like anchovies, you will not be disappointed.
